Rhyl Beach
We may be slightly biased, but in our opinion the very best beach in North Wales can be found right on the doorstep of Marine Holiday Park in the form of Rhyl beach.

Stretching out over six miles of the coastline, Rhyl beach has helped to ensure that the town has become synonymous with seaside holidays. With its soft golden sands and plethora of nearby facilities on the promenade, Rhyl beach is in our view the best beach in North Wales for families as it has everything that you could possibly need right on hand. You can grab an ice cream or enjoy a traditional bag of fish & chips from one of the nearby kiosks, cross the road to take advantage of the famous amusement arcades or simply build a sandcastle or two.

While dogs are permitted on parts of the beach during peak season, you can let them loose across the whole six miles during quieter points of the year. Rhyl beach really does tick all the boxes.

Colwyn Bay & Porth Eirias Beach
Another nearby beach which is perfect for a family day at the seaside is Colwyn Bay & Porth Eirias beach. Again, it offers soft golden sands and a wide selection of nearby facilities which includes the highly acclaimed Bryn Williams Restaurant at Porth Eirias which serves mouth-watering breakfasts, lunches and dinner options throughout the day.

This isn’t the only eatery that is available here though, with Parisella’s café on the main promenade serving sensational award winning ice creams which really are a must try for anyone with a sweet tooth.

Colwyn Bay promenade has recently undergone a significant multi-million pound regeneration which has turned it into one of the finest in the country. With countless seating and picnic tables in addition to children’s activities such as hopscotch, it has set new standards and cemented Colwyn Bay as the perfect destination for anyone who is looking for a scenic and flat cycling route in the North Wales region.

It is also one of the best beaches in North Wales for swimming and watersports, with plenty of enthusiasts taking to the waters throughout the year even during the bracing winter season!

Pwllheli Beach
Pwllheli has not one, but two beaches to choose from. The south shingle beach stretches all the way from our sister park at Gimblet Rock through to Llanbedrog. With the glorious Pwllheli promenade running alongside it, this is a great location for a scenic coastal walk and it is also dog friendly except for a very small section during peak season which can easily be avoided by taking to the promenade.

The south beach and Gimblet Rock itself are also popular fishing destinations, with a wide selection of species inhabiting the clean waters that are on offer in this region. There are also plenty of facilities nearby including toilets and a choice of cafes & restaurants in Pwllheli town centre. If the sea and sand isn’t quite enough to keep the kids entertained throughout the day, then they can head to the play area and skate park.

Glan y Don Beach is located at the rear of the marina which lies adjacent to Gimblet Rock Holiday Park. This is far more sandy in nature and commonly thought of as being one of North Wales best kept secrets thanks to its stunning coastal views and peaceful nature. Just be aware that it does not ordinarily have a lifeguard presence, so take to the water with care.
