Top 5 Best Spas in North Wales

09 October 2024

Everyone deserves a little peace and tranquillity once in a while, and there is no better time to do this than when you are on holiday.

If you are holidaying with us at Marine Holiday Park, you will be delighted to hear that some of the best spas in North Wales are located just a short drive away from our Rhyl resort. This gives you the opportunity to let the stresses of everyday life evaporate whilst expert therapists do their work to address any stubborn aches & pains.

To help you find the best North Wales Spa for you, we thought we’d put together a short list based on our own experiences for you to choose from. Without further ado, here are our top 5 best spas in North Wales…

1. Bodysgallen Hall & Spa (Llandudno)

Set in a 17th century country house near Llandudno, Bodysgallen Hall offers guests the opportunity to enjoy a tranquil escape surrounded by beautiful gardens and views of the nearby Conwy Castle.

Bodysgallen Hall has all the facilities you could ask for with an indoor pool, sauna, steam room and whirlpool. There are also a range of spa treatments available made up of massages, facials and body wraps using products made by luxury brands such as Aromatherapy Associates.

This spa is located just a 30 minute drive away from Marine Holiday Park on the outskirts of Llandudno. Whilst at the venue, you may wish to dine at the exceptional on-site restaurant which has been awarded 3 AA Rosettes and has a reputation for crafting some of the most exceptional food in the region. Please do be aware though that the restaurant operates with a strict dress code. Anyone seen wearing t-shirts, trainers, tracksuit or shorts will not be accepted into the restaurant.

2. Tre-Ysgawen Hall Country House Hotel & Spa (Anglesey)

This one is a bit of a trek, being located a full 1 hour drive away from Marine Holiday Park. However, it is truly the best spa in Anglesey and well worth the journey if you want to experience something absolutely exceptional.

Nestled in the countryside of Anglesey, this Victorian mansion offers an idyllic setting for a spa day. Its award winning facilities and peaceful rural location make it a top choice for those seeking a place where they can relax and let the stresses of modern life drain from their system.

Facilities here include a thermal suite, ice fountain, experience showers, sauna, salt inhalation room, and a large heated swimming pool. Spa treatments that are available range from hot stone massages to bespoke facials, all of which are administered using products from luxury brands such as ESPA.

After driving all of that way, you can opt to make a day of it by booking afternoon tea at the venue in a picturesque setting amidst their beautifully manicured gardens.

3. Bazzar Spa at Ruthin Castle Hotel (Ruthin)

Located slightly closer to Marine Holiday Park is the Bazaar spa at Ruthin Castle Hotel. This is 40 minutes up the road from our resort and offers guests a choice of two exceptional spa day experiences.

You can head inside the venue and enjoy a traditional spa day experience, making use of the facilities which include a steam room, sauna, mud room and relaxation room. This can then be capped off by opting for one of the various wellness and beauty treatments which have been inspired by the castle's history.

However, if you want a truly unique experience then you can opt for the Woodland Spa Experience. This package includes a welcoming herbal tea, afternoon cream tea and 3 hours access to the spa facilities. This includes the wonderful woodland hot tubs where you can sit out and enjoy complete serenity with glorious natural views.

4. The Quay Hotel & Spa (Deganwy)

Situated along the Conwy Estuary, roughly 30 minutes away from Marine Holiday Park is The Quay Hotel & Spa in Deganwy. The spa facilities have recently been improved here and now include a hydrotherapy pool, sauna and steam room.

You also have the option to purchase a number of spa treatments using Elemis products. Some of the spa’s signature treatments include rejuvenating facials, deep tissue massages, and body scrubs. Nothing truly exceptional.

While what is on offer in the spa itself isn’t showing anything unique, it is the spa’s location which is the real highlight. On a warm day you can buy a cold drink from the on-site bar and sit on the outdoor terrace which is truly the best location to make the most of the breathtaking views of Conwy Castle and the surrounding waters. It really is a sight to behold.

5. The Retreat Spa (Abergele)

5th on our list is the Retreat Spa in Abergele. Unfortunately, this spa isn’t available to guests staying at Marine Holiday Park. Access is reserved exclusively for holiday home owners and holiday makers who are staying at our sister holiday park, Tan Rallt.

Here our holiday home owners and holiday guests can make the most of our facilities without worrying about the crowds. These facilities include a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. You can also opt to take advantage of one of the many beauty or spa treatments which are available from our exceptional spa therapist who will leave you feeling ten years younger. Also available to guests and holiday home owners at Tan Rallt is our on-site gymnasium which has all the equipment needed to hold back these extra holiday pounds.

If you are interested in learning more about holiday home ownership at Tan Rallt, then please contact their team for more information.

Alternatively, if you would like to sample a spa experience for yourself at Marine Holiday Park, then why not book a stay in one of our hot tub lodges in Rhyl? With this accommodation you’ll benefit from having your own private access to hot tub facilities which come as part and parcel of your accommodation. No queues, no sharing, simply relaxing.
