Best Indoor Activities in Rhyl
If you are staying with us at Marine Holiday Park on a rainy day then there is no need to fear, as there are plenty of indoor activities in Rhyl to keep all members of the family entertained.
Irrespective of whether you are looking to entertain small children or a couple looking to catch a memorable live performance, there are plenty of indoor activities in Rhyl that will keep people of all ages entertained whatever the weather.
We therefore thought we’d put together a list highlighting some of the best indoor activities in Rhyl for our valued holiday makers as a back up during their next time staying with us at our seaside holiday park:
1. Head to the SC2
If you are looking for fun things to do with children in Rhyl, there is nowhere better than the SC2. Located on the seafront alongside Rhyl promenade, the SC2 is home to the town’s highly acclaimed water park. Here children (and adults) can plummet down water slides and flumes, take advantage of the various apparatus in the outdoor splash pad where it really doesn’t matter if it’s raining, or let smaller children have some fun in the piranha play zone.
However, the SC2 is about much more than just a water park. It even has its own Ninja Tag course where participants are challenged to make their way across the assault course by climbing, jumping and balancing. Here you’ll face high walls, giant ball pits and much more.
There are even non-water based activities for small kids too in the adventure play area which is a far more sedate version of the ninja assault course. If you aren’t one for thrills and adventure, then you can plonk yourself down in the on-site cafe and let the other members of the family play.
2. Have Fun at the Amusement Arcades
No visit to Rhyl would be complete without paying a visit to the famous seaside amusement arcades. Here you can take advantage of all the traditional on-site activities such as playing retro computer games, trying your hand at the fruit machines, attempting to win a prize on one of the grabber machines or let the smaller children have fun on one of the coin operated rides.
However, these aren’t your run of the mill seaside amusement arcades. In Rhyl you can also have a game of ten-pin bowling or pool, take on the casino or even play a game of bingo! There really is something for all ages here. There are even dining options available should you build up an appetite during your visit.
3. Have a Game of Mini Golf
Located on the opposite side of the road to the SC2 on West Parade road you’ll see an advert for Rhyl’s only indoor crazy golf course. This 9 hole challenge is the perfect indoor activity in Rhyl for families, with special deals available for groups of 4 which help to keep costs to a minimum.
You will encounter tropical shrubbery and safari wildlife as you traverse your way around this treasure island themed crazy golf course which sits inside The Palace Fun Centre.
4. Watch a Show at the Rhyl Pavilion Theatre
Another great all weather attraction in Rhyl is the Rhyl Pavilion Theatre which plays host to some of the country’s leading entertainers. Over the years the theatre stage and that of its predecessor have been trodden by the likes of Tom Jones, The Beatles, Cliff Richard, Ken Dodd and even spoon bending extraordinaire Uri Geller.
In the current day, at the time of writing the theatre is set to host performances from comedians Rod Gilbert, Harry Hill and John Bishop. Make sure you keep your eyes peeled on the various adverts which are placed around the town so that you don’t miss out on a performance from one of your favourite celebrities.
The pantomime is also sure to be a winner with all the family, with this annual entertainment extravaganza attracting plenty of famous names and playing throughout the month of December.
5. Watch a Film at the Cinema
Keen to watch the latest movie blockbuster? Then why not head to Rhyl’s Vue Cinema which is situated next to Rhyl Promenade and across the road from the aforementioned amusement arcades.
There are 5 different screens at the venue capable of showing 2D and 3D movies in 4K picture quality. You can also pay a little more for VIP tickets if you are keen to secure some extra leg room or want to be sat in the optimum position to watch the movie.
In addition to movie blockbusters, the cinema also occasionally shows live West End shows, music concerts or sporting events. Head to the Vue Cinema website to learn more about upcoming showings.
